Meet Our Advisors:
Brian Westbury:
With an extensive career in dentistry, Brian Westbury has successfully managed two dental practices and played a pivotal role in dental governance. He has served as secretary for four Local Dental Committees and represented the profession on the General Dental Services Committee. Additionally, he chaired the Dentists’ Health Support Trust for ten years.
Brian spent over 25 years at Dental Protection, advancing to the role of Senior Dento-Legal Adviser, where he provided guidance on NHS regulations and supported registrants facing GDC cases. In 2019, he joined All Med Pro as a Dental Adviser. A former Academic Dean of the Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians, he holds degrees in Dentistry, Law, and Psychology, bringing extensive expertise to his role.
Ravi Rattan:
Dr. Ravi Rattan is an accomplished dentist who has been a practice principal and owner since the 1990s. He has served as a Dental Advisor and Clinical Lead for NHSE England and has significant experience as a Dento-Legal Advisor. Additionally, he is a guest lecturer at multiple European dental universities, sharing his expertise with future professionals.
Recently, Ravi was honored as a Fellow of the College of Dentistry, recognizing his contributions to the field. He also holds an MFLLM qualification, reflecting his depth of knowledge in dento-legal matters.
Stephen Henderson:
Stephen qualified in London in 1984 and later earned a master’s degree in medical law (LLM) from Cardiff in 2005. After working in hospital practice, he transitioned into private practice in Oxford, where he also served as a visiting specialist in oral surgery until 2020.
With 25 years of experience in dento-legal advisory roles, Stephen began his career at Dental Protection before joining MDDUS, where he led the Dental Division until mid-2023. He now works independently as a dental adviser, focusing on lecturing, writing, and expert witness reporting.
